Is Your Baby’s Food Really Safe?
As a society, we’ve demonstrated incredible ingenuity throughout history. We’ve invented the wheel, developed philosophy, discovered the concept of zero, and harnessed nature to a significant extent. Yet, despite our cleverness, we have consistently lagged in protecting and prioritizing our children. It’s shocking how often posterity is an afterthought.
It’s hard to believe, but it wasn’t until the 1970s and 1980s that scientists — highly educated, informed individuals — acknowledged that infants could feel pain during surgery. Imagine undergoing a surgical procedure with no anesthesia.
Even adults, as depicted in films and literature, often faint from extreme pain. Now, picture an infant enduring such agony. This was the brutal reality for countless children until these barbaric practices were finally addressed.
Equally staggering is the fact that only two U.S. states — California and Maryland — currently require baby food manufacturers to test for toxic heavy metals. You might assume these regulations have been in place for years, but in reality, these laws are very recent. California enacted its law on October 10, 2023, and Maryland followed suit on May 16, 2024.
