A flash fiction story about reality.

A persons stares into an alternate reality. They look at the a hole in the ground which reveals buildings, the sky and an airplane.

The air was thick and stale, a heavy cloud of despair looming over everything. Faces appeared frozen in distress, their eyes empty and hopeless. Buildings loomed ominously above her, the darkness within hinting at something sinister lurking just beyond sight.

Terrified by the surreal landscape, she struggled to understand what was happening. With every step she took deeper into this strange world, another piece of her soul seemed to vanish into thin air like ashes blown away by an unseen wind.

She knew then with utter certainty that this place held dark secrets buried deep beneath its deceptive surface. They were secrets that must never be revealed if she wanted to survive such a cruel and twisted reality. But as reality began to crumble around her like crumbling stone walls overrun by creeping vines, there was no turning back.

And so she pushed forward with grim determination, fighting desperately against whispers calling out from an endless void beckoning for her soul. For within these shadows seething with evil intent, lay the only chance for escape from this mad world — not realizing escape would come at a terrible cost… This world is fake. Nothing about it is true. Look around you. What do you see? Answer me honestly if you can.
