The sure way I've found to circumvent the accusation is by using rhetoric and by incorporating foreign terms. But what would your piece sound like then? Not everyone is deft at using rhetoric. Alone, that science contains over 200 devices. Memorizing their usage is daunting. As far as the foreign terms, how many good writers can easily use ad hoc, ad nauseam, ad hominem, apropos, vis-a-vis, tête-à-tête, etc? Perhaps many. But what about your readers? How many know what any of those terms are?
