In a land brimming with gleaming skyscrapers, technological marvels, and extravagant lifestyles, it is a paradoxical reality that poverty continues to cast its oppressive shadow over the United States. How can a nation known for its unfettered capitalism and boundless opportunities fail to provide a safety net for its most vulnerable citizens? Today, we delve into the depths of this paradox, examining the underlying factors that contribute to the abounding poverty in America.

At the heart of the matter lies the core tenets of capitalism. While the system promises the pursuit of individual prosperity and the freedom to rise through the ranks, it often neglects those who stumble along the way. Capitalism thrives on competition, unabashedly rewarding the winners while leaving the losers to fend for themselves. In a society fixated on success, the repercussions for those who fall behind can be merciless.

One of the pillars upholding this capitalist construct is the ever-widening wealth gap. As the rich amass more wealth, the chasm between the haves and the have-nots grows ever wider.
