What if everything you thought you knew about love was a lie? Now, before you react, pause and let that question sink in. We live in a world where love has become a buzzword, packaged in Instagram captions, glossy magazines, and rom-com fantasies.

We’ve been sold a version of love that’s shiny on the outside but hollow on the inside — a version that promises you can “have it all” without the necessary sacrifice, effort, or understanding. The truth is, many of us have fallen into the trap of modern love, where the illusion is more attractive than the reality.

In my book The Delusion of Modern Woman in Relationships, I dive deep into this facade. The illusion of modern love is that it’s always supposed to feel good, always supposed to be exciting, and never meant to challenge you. This notion is dangerous because it sets you up for failure from the start. Real love isn’t a perpetual honeymoon phase.

Real love requires commitment, discipline, and resilience — qualities that seem to have been lost in today’s society. We’ve traded depth for convenience, intimacy for surface-level satisfaction.
